I live in Florida. Do you know the steps that I must take?
Take a class. Apply. Wait. Carry.
I had to fill out a form and i got it 2 minutes later.
^ yea ok....
you need to take a class, fill out paper work with fingerprints and 2 passport photos, and prove you know how to use a gun. Takes about a month to get after paperwork is in.
PA laws are different you retard, dont be a smartass.
That could be a good reason not to give PA advice in a thread about FL CCW.
I was just pointing out that my state feels that its ok to just do a quick background check and hand you a licence. not jump through hoops to use my right.
come to gun show on Apr 16-17 down at the fairgrounds... pay $40 or $50, take the class that is held there, and mail in your paperwork.
its easy.... i'm gonna be there takin it.
Thanks man. I will see you there.
im looking into getting a florida permit, i need to find out if i can take a class here and fill out the paperwork or if i need to take one there...
The application can all be done by mail. Your class can be local as long as it meets FL's requirements.
nevermind, just read in the ccw package i got from FL that a hunters safety course is considered required training
yeah, i already have the app. see above
Take training beyond the minimum required. A hunter's safety course does not prepare you to use a pistol for defense.
no problem... i think they have 2 classes per day, one in the morning and once again at like 1pm or so..
Of course. Considering the FL permit takes 90 days, I have plenty time.
HAHA I got mine today after waiting a month.
For that matter neither does the NRA Pistol Class.
I recommend to everybody I teach that 6 months after they buy their first pistol they should go take a GOOD training course.
where can i find a list of GOOD training courses in my area?
Those are two of the best companies that offer regularly scheduled classes nationwide. If they don't offer one close enough to you, they both will come to you if you can sponsor the class. They should both have info on sponsoring a class on their sites.
I have no clue for other areas. I direct people to American Small Arms Acadamy (Chuck Taylor\Masood Ayoob). That's some of the best training money can buy.
It's a FL based company but they have an instructor (Paul Gomez) who lives in Baton Rouge, LA.
If you can find a local host range, those Tactical Response guys are pretty good.
Are you taking the early one or the later one?
