(note, not mine; im debating it)
my car for reference
The wheels look too modern for the car.
Needs to be lowered. Otherwise not bad. Not sure if they are the right wheels for the car but they work.
Don't do it. That vette is in a class of its own. You don't need new wheels to make people say "Awesome Vette". You have the chrome bling on the front/back (i.e. bumpers), you seriously don't need to enhance the profile shot. I've had two '73's and an '85 and I kept the wheels stock, because the curves and exhaust note are what draw the attention.
[Edit: I'm sorry, after re-reading your post, I'm confused. Is this about buying the wheels or the whole car? ]
Those wheels are awesome. A friend had them on his LS1 Camaro SS and it looked incredible.
keep the ralleye's (sp) that you have
I'd keep the wheels you have, and put better tires on it.
was debating doing those wheels on my car.
and whats wrong with bf goodrich tires? they're "period" correct for the car. I dont take corners at mach 4 and I dont sit there at every light trying to break the tires loose
Thank you for the clarification. Definately don't do those wheels, they won't add anything to your car. Actually, I think they'll take away from the look of your vette. Agreed with trying to stay close to the right tires for your year of car, especially if you're going to stay stay or similar period.
rallyes > FM5s on a classic Vette
I like it.
They're nice looking wheels, just not on that vette.
Factory wheels > those in this case, though on the right car they'd be hot.
torq thrusts look a lot better on older cars because it still has the same style as the then popular cragar SS wheels
If your not gonna get torq thrusts, Id stay stock
change them and I'll hunt you down and kill you.....if you HAVE TO change them, go for a multi-spoke + knock off design
I ended up repainting the ralleys for now.
i just know they will be black after a good weekend of driving thanks to the lovely napa pads that are on it.
Too much wheel, not enough tire for that car.
The Rallyes suit that car so well.
I wonder if just the wheel was painted body color, how it would contrast with the trim ring & center cap...?
Just a thought, might look like shit.
No such thing. I saw some HREs on a 72 Camaro and it was one of the sickest things I've ever seen.
not a fan
EBC Redstuff pads kick ass. I let my wheels go all winter and there was only a slight yellowish-grey film to wash off.
I like it.
or I can get wagner thermoquiets for 20 bucks. Best brake pad on the market just south of ceramics. (they typically sell for 50 bucks)
Corz, stick with the stockers. They make the car. I love Fikse rims, but I would not put them on anything older than 90. Plus the sticker shock is enough to kill ya.
Let me know if you are interested in a set though
I think they look too deep before you get to the spokes. whatever the fuck that measurement is called.
