Seriously though, my inheritance was to be about 200k, but land valuations are going up and it could be as much as 800 or more. I have no idea what to do with that shit and I suck at investing

You need a local advisor.

You could be inheriting land with a date of death "step up in basis" to fair market value.

With that much at play please get a local CPA to advise you.

I don't know what this means exactly but I'm not the direct inheritance since my mom has passed. That's just my portion...the actual land may sell for over 8m and my uncles are the executors so I really don't have much control of the outcome. Just waiting for my share to be paid out when they sell the land.

stepped up basis means less cap gains tax should you sell your interest in the real estate

I didn't think taxes applied here...I've been paid out cash from the estate and didn't pay taxes on it. You all confusing me :rofl: fuck I really do suck at this.
