Semi auto, of course. What would one expect to pay?
or if h&k is too expensive:
Thats not a real mp5. A RR mp5 would cost you 12-15000 thousand.
It seems you're right
Yeah, they've held steady at around $15k for a few years now. My friend came close to selling one of his in exchange for a transferrable AK and $8k cash. He was also going to have one of the OHR HK21 conversions done with the sear pack from one of his MP5's, and sell the host gun.
fyi you can buy a full auto but you need to have the federal stamp/background check. dont know many people that have 10k laying around though
If your buddy is still looking for a Hk21, I've got a nice Vollmer converted 21 on a German receiver (its a sear gun) with tripod and a few other accs, and I might consider selling/trading it for an MP5 host.
The Vollmer converted guns, especially the ones Dyer converted are Nice. Which is what I'd be looking for in an MP5 host.
he asked about the cost of the semi auto (i am assuming the "civilian" version). i thought real mp5 had the choice of semi, burst, full auto (not exactly what he was asking for)?
What they mean is MP5 is the designation normally reserved for full automatic SMGs whereas the semi-auto version is usually called the HK94. You can find the HK94 for ~3-4k as they can't currently be imported, US made receiver builds with HK parts kits run about $1k.
Both would still need an extended 16" barrel or you'd have to pay the $200 to register it as a short barrel rifle.
I'll ask him. He's probably at the range right now, but I'll talk to him later today and ask. To be clear, are you wanting to trade the whole 21 except the sear pack for the MP5 minus the sear pack? And because I'm not truly up to date on all the HK stuff, yours is an actual HK21, or is it a clone?
I'm not sure if he even still wants to do it, but I'll ask. I know his belt fed ambitions have moved toward getting a postsample 240 when he gets his SOT a few months down the road.
Well my HK21 is built on an HK91 receiver, I'm looking to sell for ~11k for the 21 and accs. I'm looking to pay around 4k for a HK94 Vollmer converted and remarked MP5 or MP5N with Navy barrel, Navy housing, Trigger (less sear) pack, MP5 F/A bolt and carrier, and A3 stock (would pay more for a French stock). The condition of the bore has to be fairly decent cause I really don't want to mess with sending it out and getting a new barrel put in.
I will ask my friend and let him know what's up. I'll try to get you an answer, if not get you in touch with him, within a couple days.
If he has any questions let me know.
Okay, I just called him. He says he's not in the market anymore. 'Preciate it, though.
Not a problem, I haven't listed it up for sale yet. But I'm sure I'll be able to unload it at the price I want eventually. Thanks.
Ya I dont know who would be able to afford one hah
I only paid $8K for mine.
Not a bad deal, I'd take 9k for mine without accs. Did you buy yours directly from Vollmer?
Sure you can buy a full auto MP5! You just need a Class 6 Liscense...
Not hard to get just gotta go through background checks and pay a little cash to the US Gov. Id get an MP5K though but thats my opinion. They come with a cool briefcase that lets you fire it while still inside!
A Class 6? Where can I get one of those????
Wow. Just wow.
On any military base. They have cheap liquor and no tax.
Short answer, yes, but it doesn't look good with the long barrel. Either get a Class II and register it as a Short Barreled Rifle or get a fake supressor attachment.
