1. Why is my per diem so low? i am getting $52.80/ day according to my orders. Per diem for Montgomery, AL shows 75 for lodging and 23 for proportional meals. I am staying in VOQ if that helps.

Can someone just explain it to me?

2. How does separation pay work? I am on a 42 day TDY in a different state 206 miles from my home duty station...should i get separation pay for this?

I found this: 3. The member is on TDY (or temporary additional duty) away from the permanent station continuously for more than 30 days, and the member's dependents are not residing at or near the TDY station. This includes members who are required to perform a period of the TDY before reporting to their initial station of assignment (such as basic training and technical school/AIT/A-School).

but it doesn't really answer my question.

Somewhere near the Pentagon...
Because Maxwell has a chow hall, you are expected to go there. If you were staying off base, you would get full per-diem. It sucks. Columbus doesn't have a chow hall, so it works a little differently. As per seperation, you probably should get it, but I would call MPF and ask them about it. Or visit them at Maxwell in their uber-spiffy building. 804.

listen are you going to OBC? IF so, you may be getting perdiem - chow (+ weekends). LT's usually get weekend regular food allowance. I did. Cuz we are cool like that. :hs:

As for family separation. The retards at your OBC orderly room will insist on you filing for it at your PCS station. DONT!!!!!!! It's a pain in the ass, and it took me 3 months to even receive my settled travel vouched. You are authorized to file for it after 30 days of being seperated. If they tell you different go to IG, b/c they are just being lazy asses.
