I just sold my supra, I will miss the car. It's sad to see her go.
did you sell it for the same you paid for it
my baby. currently under the kife
bullshit. No one sells low mileage RSP without letting me know
under knife from BHG?
under the knife also
my mk2 supra
better than a supra, lol.
Anyone interested in a newly rebuilt CT-26 60-1 Turbo?
I'm considering selling it instead of putting it back on my car.
Try the Celica and MR2 boards.
It's a bolt on for the 1gen I and II 3SGTE [gen II uses the original exhaust housing and the compressor needs to be clocked for both].
I was thinking of doing that, just figured I'd toss that in there while I saw the thread
Beast, I sure hope you don't come in this subforum and act like you know everything like you did in the vag.
I wish I was in this crew, but all the MK3 turbos I find are either autos or in shitty condition
swap in a 1jz. thats what i'm doing with my cress
and how am I going to do that with only 4k in the bank BEFORE I buy the car? (also, it isn't the engine that is in shitty condition, its the body or interior)
same way I'm doing my swap. saving. keep saving till you find a good chassis, then buy it, strip it, and throw in the 1j.
how much did it cost you for the engine? And how long does the labor take? (the one advantage of the central valley is that there are a shit load of shops that have the gear to swap engines, though a 2.5L is WAY smaller than what most work with )
and where are you getting the 1jzgte?
a friend of minez
ooo i saw you on SM, nice car
i might be picking up a 88 turbo in the next month...2 supras before the age of 17 is a pretty good start
I'm trying to pick up a Mk3 turbo by the first weekend in Nov, I figure a 700 mile roadtrip that weekend will tell me what is broken
don't have my engine yet, but there are plenty of (legit) importers here in the NW. it also helps to know people in the biz.
fuck shops. its not your car if you don't build it. its not like its a hard swap, either. its the same concept as putting an sr20 in a 240. they came in the same chassis in japan, and have all the proper parts already, save for the engine, wiring, and ecu. I figure it'll take a weekend doing everything leisurely with a couple buddies drinking beers and dicking off. I haven't done too many swaps, but I haven't fucked one up yet, haha.
no lift, no tools, no space in the garage, no experience with anything that involved
you're into cars it seems... you must know some friends who know friends. I don't have anything but tools and experience. borrow a cherry picker, get a tarp, and do it outside yo. ghetto ftw!
well...I DO have an alleyway with the garage facing it, a set of tools on the way, and I know a guy that runs a shop.....
Really though, what is the benefit of going with a 1jz over a 7mgte? It seems that they make about the same power once you start working on them.
