how is the focusing compared to others in the canon lineup?
Supposed to be a lot better. Its got a lot better system than anything non-1 series and AI Servo II is smarter on paper than AI Servo (Servo II actively looks at pretty much all focus points to determine how out of focus those areas are so the system can more accurately determine size and track a subject).
Ive heard mixed reports though.
I think the few on there that have it love it.
Fast the 19 point is fairly nice, the zones work well. I pulled the trigger monday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday morning
I'm not the expert here by any stretch of the imagination, but goddam I love this thing compared to my older 40D!
AF is so much faster and smoother
ISO is better...all my pics at 6400ISO have less noise
video alone is worth the price of admission! fucking win!
the viewfinder is the best in Canon, south of the 1D, IMO.
Fit and finish is perfect.
just a homerun by canon IMO.
Can't wait to buy this camera.
Viewfinder is actually better than the 1D MkIII.
do it faggot
i'm really tempted, for the video factor alone...but the D300s has autofocus.
not a 1 series but its still more than useable.
I've got a 50d right now...plan on holding out for a few months and wait for a used 7d to go up for sale then trade up.
i got mine tuesday night.
i love it.
EVERYTHING on it is better than the 5D2, except the sensor, imo.
faster burst, 2 digic4's, feels better in the hand, nice live-view switch, better metering, better AF..
look how sexy it is:
and all the other crap im giving up because the 7D can do it all
thanks for the SOny vegas hookup bro!
get the grip
yes. faster, bigger buffer, better AF, better construction . . .
I may buy this locally... to support them.. but i may try to haggle a battery from them or something to make it worth my while and theres.
ille RDP into my home comp and get that up right now.
print best buy 10 or 12% off coupon
i found a guy selling a BG-E7 locally on clist for $200
i just may
I bought mine lmao
nah, XL1 (not even the 1s) -- i havent had any new gear in yeaaaars.
christ almighty man, that 7D is LIGHTYEARS beyond that XL1
yup. it's still a good camera, but I dont do any video work anymore. The servo-controlled focus on the XL1/1s was reaaaaaaaaaaaly slow so you couldnt really pull focus quickly.
either way, im really happy with my choice all the old stuff should be gone this week. just waiting for payment.
found a local guy on clist that had the D7 grip, nib for 4200. probably gonna pick that up
then hopefully a 70-200 before my cousin's wedding next week. another guy has the 24-70 and 70-200 for 2500 total...seems like a pretty good deal, but ideally, i should get a wide before i go replacing the kit lens.
