without using aim?
please do tell. or atleast where to go.
I personally just email the phone. In my case I had to create a small script to create a plain text message via a telnet session because the mail server the cell supplier uses (Rogers AT&T) wasn't stripping off header information.
ummm our provider (telus) has a feature where u can text message a phone from their webpage... but they can only reply to another phone...
I've swiped the HTML guts from my provider's web interface and built my own text messaging page on my site.
I've also built an email gateway (either form submit or just plain email).
I've also done the AIM to cell gateway.
I have yet to figure out true SMS... With the above options, I'm not really worried about it either.
i can was able to send text that appeared on a friends phone as an sms thru icq, she just did reply and it poped up in icq as a buddy window
also was able to do it through hotmail
