If I do this to my back everyday...will this fuck it up in the long run?
Everytime i do it to my back...it cracks almost from top to bottom but it feels so good.
Generally you don't want to roll your lumbar spine as most people have too much flexibility in the lumbar (lower spine).
Any of you with back pain use an inversion table? never tried one but i think it would help with my back problems.
I do a similar exercise on the pulley machine where i use ankle straps and lie down. use the straps to pull on my legs and thus stretch out my lower back. definitely feel a difference this way a few days after.
wish my gym had a reverse hyper machine...heard good things about that as well
Best thread in this forum.
never thought to do that. have you tried it for your back pain?
I wouldn't use the reverse hyper for back pain.
anyone got a good article/link to show the best way to roll with a lacrosse ball/tennis ball... i pretty much just mash it between my shoulder blades/spine, under my ass (peronius? or some shit), my calves, and my feet.
my dad has a herniated disc and lower back pain. What are some exercises he can jump into? I'm thinking of buying the book elfing posted and a foam roller.
He REFUSES to go to a doctor so I figured this would be a start. Please halp
how does he know he has a herniated disc?
He's an x-ray tech and works at a hospital
lol, i think you've posted 20 times in the last week... and all of them have been the same post about either shoulder health, back health, or knee health.
that wall shoulder press is incredibly useful if your mid upper back is weak. i learned about it after my $100 bodywork treatment
you wouldn't get the full experience without it
but seriously, with meds you wouldn't be able to pinpoint your trouble spots as much
jesus christ i never had shoulder pain but using a tennis ball on my rotator cuffs hurt like a bitch. i guess this is a spot i forgot about
the back? yeah it fuckin does. the backs of my shoulders get super tight whenever i workout upper body. tennis ball releases 'em every time.
I'm going to go find a tennis ball!
you mean the area right by the rear deltoids ?
i tried rolling around with a tennis ball in that area and i remember it having a real tight/pinchy feel to it
i'm not an anatomy expert, but think it's the teres major.. mine gets super tight in my left shoulder from any sort of work that requires shoulder stability. hit it with a tennis ball for 15 to 20 seconds... feels 100%.
I shall try this
where is your knee pain? front, back, outer, inner?
