it does not exist.
i am touching mine right now
oh and its because july 1 they're releasing the 70-200 vr2
whats the difference?
Myth or not, at least some info on VR2, it's a newer and improvededer VR. Has Normal Mode, then Active mode. Active is supposed to be able to pick up on things like vibrations while riding in cars versus hand shake, etc. I am currently using the 70-300 VRII and I have found that 90% of the time, I just use Active mode. It makes a lot more noise in Normal mode, and doesn't seem to work quite as well. I am too lazy atm to give you a link showing the beni's, sorry. THere are listed specific appropriate uses for each mode.
It's crappy on FX. And by the way it's just a rumor they're releasing a new one.
Normal mode allows for panning. Two of the four stabilizers are deactivated so the VR system doesn't try to compensate for the panning motion. If you're not in a moving vehicle, normal mode should work for most photographers because they tend to produce more up/down motion than left/right motion.
The 70-200 VR has normal and active mode already.
Mine sits in my bag 362 days out of the year as is, I should use it more often so people will think I am professional.
...Until they realize youre using Nikon
I my 70-200 VR. I try to use it as much as I can.
meh, still chugging along with my 80-200 AF-S
I have a steady hand, who needs vr
You need it, that's who!!
buy me one
i found a 28-70 for $950 shipped by the way
still debating, but I'm leaning towards yes
Oh, and that gold ring isn't exactly flimsy. So that one lens either got caught or broke another way.
And for $950, do it.
I decided to stay away from the ebay one with the ring problem. I didn't feel comfortable.
This one for $950 is mint.
I just got a confirmation from a guy buying my 18-200 so I'm good to go on this one.
it's next on my list since I recently aquired the 28-70/2.8...but then I think you know that
jesus christ...that's a great deal on it
I'm starting to love the sharpness of the 28-70 too. I know nikon lenses cost a lot, but it seems the prime lens pricing is almost worth it in most cases.
I took some stuff on Sunday with it, and they are dramatically different than images taken with the 18-135 I'd been using. The swimsuit shoot on the beach is gonna be nice with the new lens
Need some help with the swimsuit shoot?
check the workshops section
there's links to the models ports as well.
Sold mine on ebay a couple weeks ago for more than I payed for it new over a year ago
