first few minutes has Beverly get into a firefight with aliens. They have fully automatic energy weapons and she has a phaser rifle that is pump action single shot.

The amount of exposition explaining even basic things is astounding. Do the writers really think their audience is completely ignorant?

They explain through pointless dialogue what a codec is.

Oh, and in case you forgot, this is what a communicator is and also in case you forgot Picard used to be the captain of the enterprise.

Yeah the main bad review I read was saying they act like nobody knows what any of this technology is anymore. And repeating shit over and over for no reason.
