After much hoopla has been made over the mysterious "HP edition" Camaro, GM has finally let the cat out of the bag. This car isn't named HP Edition or Z28, it's officially the Camaro ZL1 and it is a beast.

As expected the car is powered by GM's supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8, the same engine in the Cadillac CTS-V. The engine produces 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque.

Perhaps a bit less expected is the aggressive performance enhancements the ZL1 has over the more 'regular' Camaro models. GM states the car has a beefed up drivetrain and track-ready cooling system, among many other changes.

Loved the new Camaro right up until the moment I sat in one and closed the door. My god... that car has atrocious visibility from the inside.

I always wondered about that. Looking at it from the outside lead me to believe it was terrible.

I've been into f-bodies for a long time. I just bought my third one from an OT'er.

I was, like many f-body enthusiasts, really excited when the new Camaro came out in 2009 (2010 model). When a local Chevy dealer brought a bunch of his cars out to the site for a local festival we had, you could sit in the cars. I took my opportunity to sit in a Camaro.

I climbed in, buckled the seat belt, and closed the door. As I tried to look around and out the back of the car, my interest in the car vanished. The interior felt tiny and the visibility was dangerously bad.

It was heartbreaking, as far as car-related emotions can go. :hsd:
