The Canadian video is fucking scary.
This is all part of the North American Union shit We are doomed.
as much as the NRA pisses me off, they are our only real defense
It would be nice to organize a march on DC while openly carrying arms to show solidarity among gun owners. Of course, we would have to carry only long guns, since handguns are banned in DC Then again, if even 1 million gun owners would show up, there aren't enough cops in the country, much less DC alone, to arrest that many people
I replied in another forum to a thread similar to this way back asking how many people were NRA. Everybody but one made excuses about how the NRA was wrong and not wanting to give them their money. Still somehow they expected other people to defend their gun rights. So short story, your not NRA, you don't write your represenatives, but you belly ache about your people infringing on your rights.
So how many people here belong to the NRA?
I went up to Canada for business and grabbed a pamphlet from their immigrations office about owning and importing firearms in Canada to see what it was aboot.
I left it in my hotel room, where the maid must've seen it because when I came in later that evening, the desk manager asked if I had any firearms with me and said the hotel did not have any safes that could accommodate a weapon.
Sure, I'd smuggle a gun to Canada. I saw the immigrations guys ready to kick some guy's ass for smuggling $600 worth of fucking cheese.
This is what I have to say about this: American politicians, are YOU listening? This is how gun bans don't work, this is how stupid "feel good" legislation has no positive bearing in reality, and this is why the gun owners of America do NOT trust you. Every time you try and take our right to bear arms away, you threaten our personal security from the criminals in this world. Look at other countries and how this works, see the complete lack of compliance by the law-breakers. Realize that anti-gun legislation only harms the people who weren't breaking the laws.
I finally rejoined after I found out you could opt out of all the spam mail they send you.
They will be our only defents come next year...
Same shit in Australia
I've got one of my windows open to the NRA membership page right now, I'm seriously considering joining them.
NRA member here, but I think I opted out of the spam mail... I haven't gotten too much from them in a while, so I don't know...
On a recent trip to Washington DC I saw their national headquarters on a bus ride through VA to Dulles. So at least they have a relatively large presence in Washington DC. I think the NRA is the second largest lobby group behind AARP, so that gives us quite a bit of power. If there's a legal battle to be won, the NRA can probably do it.
NRA member here.
Why the hesitation?
I've heard a lot of their higher-ups are against guns like AR-15s and AK-47s. I think that is crappy. I think it is a question of which would I want more, no representation, or only some representation. Some is better than none, but it still irks me a bit.
some are - but it comes down to the fact, who else is going to stand up for any of your 2nd amendment rights?
My father says I should join GOA. I haven't heard much about them, but they seem to be very active in the Legislation for gun rights.
you should really join all of them.
GOA is good, but they aren't the NRA. The NRA is a MONSTER for national rights.
The NRA is hated by the left for a reason, they "generally" get things done...
I am a member. I go to a gun show, pay $25 (they give you $10 discount at the gun show) join the NRA for a year and get into the gun show for free once every year. Plus I get $4 discount at their range.
Well, I joined the NRA. I'll probably join GOA too later.
