went in for hopefully the final check-up today with my surgical team regarding my health progression over the past 10 or so months. i was hoping they'd say everything looks A-OK and i wouldn't have to worry about anything anymore. motherfuckers said my spleen must be removed (fluid build-up from my spleen rupture has not reabsorbed back into the spleen like they expected) background info: come may 07 i had been lifting ~5yrs. three days after i graduated college, my appendix ruptured. shit got infected and i had to have fairly major surgery. while recovering (in the hospital), my spleen "spontaneously" ruptured sending me to the ICU for ~10 days. i lost over 40% of my blood but was able to keep the spleen. after a month in the hospital i was able to go home. i dropped from 6'2" 230 to around 184lbs in a very short period of time. started lifting again mid-late september, and was weaker than i was when i started lifting in high school (first day back i could only bench 80-90lbs for reps, curl 20lb dumbbells while getting out of breath, use 25-30lb dbs for bench and military press etc). today i'm back up to 220lbs, with fairly significant gains since sept (this past week i incline benched 235 for reps, used 105lb dbs afterwards for flat bench, got 90lb dbs for 10+reps on my last set of military press). i've been so motivated recently because i'm finally getting close to where i was last year, and now i have to take more time off. when will it end..
