Goddamn, you just can't make shit like this up.
Riposte from the main.
eugene stoner will rise from the dead to skull fuck him with a dick made from an M16 bolt carrier group
locked in battery to a 20" lightweight barrel, 1:12 twist, rifle gas, no M4 feedramps.
would make better sense if it were about the AK's
saw that bs
so..spray & pray = success, after all
damnit, you beat me!
It would, but I find the AK=inherently inaccurate stuff to be just as goofy.
Well they are, do you know anyone with a submoa AK?
Not off the top of my head.... but my last Arsenal was MOA-ish with Lapua ammo.
Now how easy is it to find a cheap Model 1 or home build shooting Wolf that won't hold 4moa (hint: it's not too hard)? Point being.... most people buy shit AK's, and shoot shit ammo through them. I'd be willing to bet that even the fabled Noveskes wouldn't impress if gunning crap ammo.
Would make more sense if 1st gen ruger mini 14
You have to admit having an off center bolt is going to throw off accuracy no matter how accurate everything else is.
His point is that if you have a nice AK and you use the right ammo, it will still outshoot most everyone. I can't shoot MOA with an AR or an AK but that's not what I use them for. If I can hit what I'm aiming at out to 300-400 yards that's good enough for me.
Meh, maybe. Though personally I don't buy AK's (nor AR's for that matter) to shoot in BR type pursuits. I dunno, I'm not trying to pick a fight - I just never understood why the AK got such a crazy bad rap for inaccuracy compared to other offerings, and given it's intended goal.
If most kills were by random fire rather than aimed shots, this would support the idea that AR's were developed to improve accuracy. If you aren't hitting shit with aimed fire then wouldn't you want a MORE accurate gun not a less accurate one?
Easier to blame the tool than your skills.
Depends on whether or not you have the right tools.
When people lie about hitting MOA with M-193 and 4 MOA aimpoints I have a chuckle.
5. Set up (sand bags, bi-pod, etc)
In order of importance. Hitting MOA isn't that tough if you've done marginal preparation on all five.
The AK, especially the 7.62*39 variants are inherently inaccurate. This is not a mistake. While western cartridges have long, straight necks and cartridge walls that keep projectiles in line with the bore, the 7.62 has a sloped neck that doesn't even manage to keep the projectile on axis with the bore. However, the counter point is that a 7.62 chamber is much less sensitive to fouling and crud buildup... as there is much less chance for friction to build up with sloped cartridges.
