I've never had as many programs crash as i have with tiger
unexpected crashes? safari crashes. illustrator crashes also. im not sure if i should be blaming the software, or the os
yeah its safari mostly but other programs crash too
dammit people! just as i was about to pick it up I read this
keep panther imo
I'm still using Panther. I tried Tiger for like... 30 minutes, but I quickly went back. Too many bugs still.
i wish i could go back
No problems here. Only program that crashes is Firefox and occasionally Extensis Suitcase (but that's because of font issues).
Did you guys upgrade or clean install it? I got mine preinstalled when I ordered the G5.
no problems here
no probs here.
No problems here. I actually love the spotlight function.
Safari is the only crasher here.
I made a thread on this a while ago.
My mac has crashed three times in the three years I've had it. Once with 10.2 and twice already with tiger.
Spotlight is awesome.
I haven't had any problems with apps other than the G4 optimized Firefox 1.0.4, but I just moved over to a regular Firefox build until the G4 build is more stable.
Which G4 do you have?
but I want the new features... though I use safari as my main browser.
Safari crashed a few times for me in Panther and a few times in Tiger, still worth the upgrade IMO.
Mine never crashes... the only bugginess I've had is with the new Cisco VPN client that was released in-a-hurry for Tiger because of all the people complaining. It crashes once in a while on startup, and I just have to restart it.
Spotlight is really the one thing in tiger that i couldn't do without
Only Safari crashes for me. And, that bug is not NEARLY worth losing all the other features of Tiger by going back to Panther. Sorry, some bugs in a new release does not make it a "piece of shit". If you really hate it, do a clean install of Panther.
No problems for me.
