traveling for work this week so I figured I'd get all my major lifts in today
hotel gym ftl
I was fine on squat and bench, but my deads were suffering and the standing military press was painful
that is retarded...

not if he didn't do retarded volume
Surprised a hotel gym had the weights for any decent workout .. let alone deadlifts.
better than not getting those lifts in for the next six days

yeah that's true, i was assuming that.
squat - last two sets went three reps, good workout but didn't push it,
bench - x3 then x1 last two, x1 was at about 90% max
deads - x3, x3, x3, x1, x1 was about 80% max
standing military - repped out tree sets of five but was dying the whole time
tomorrow is running on the hotel tredmill, then tuesday will be 30 minutes of, or 100, pull ups, whichever comes first
Ah I miss-read, I thought you were already out on the road and were working out at a Hotel gym doing what you've posted.

"A" Day with Starting Strength calls for Squat Bench and Deadlift. The press is a little much but it's not going to kill him.
i know what the intermediate 5x5 program is like.
if he was 5RMaxing out on all his lifts... i think doing that for all 4 of those compound lifts would be a bit much. sure, it aint gonna kill you but it's unnecessary and by the last lift you'd probably be worn out anyways.
