Just an FYI. Should be a great show this year.
Cool. I'm headed down to St. Simmons Island (little light pollution) early tomorrow... Weather report says clear skies. Perhaps I'll try to capture a few.
I'm headed out to eastern Oregon far from the city.
I'll probably be just in my front yard. We're far enough in the country we don't have much light pollution Can't wait to see the pictures everyone comes up with
sweet! i'll finally have an opportunity to use Nikon Capture with my d200.
I was thinking about going to that too, have you ever been? I would want to take pictures but I dont have a remote or my new tripod yet
You should roll out there. I'm headed out to The Cove Palisades at lake Billy Chinook. Will be there all day tomorrow and Monday.
OMSI is having some thing at rooster rock that I heard about. I've only been out to the gorge once before
wow. i didn't even realize.
Last night, the 11th, I shot pictures of the sky, and was near missouri's Lake of the ozarks which is out in the country. Anyway, i was a little drunk and bored so i set up the D80 with a tripod and took some long exposures. I did see some meteors while waiting for the time to go by, but didn't think that it was a meteor shower. Yes i know the big one is supposed to be tonight, but it was still cool. Anyway, I got some cool star streaks pictures. Where the camera was pointed there was a meteor but it was quick and dim.
What's the best way to try to take pictures of meteors? long exposure?
first one got the camera slightly bumped about 5 mins into it.
cloudy weather ftl
im not seeing anything around here...
It's at it's peak right now I'm just watching it though; no remote for me yet
I was outside for about a half hour last night... only saw one
i only saw one worth mentioning
Was perfect out at Billy Chinook! Though I could barely move after driving and taking other pics all day, so I just set up my camera on timer capture and did a time lapse. Dunno if I got anything but what I saw with my eyes was awesome.
Saw a few... nothing spectacular though. Was out for about 3 hours.
I hope to see some pictures here soon What I saw was amazing, but I didn't get any pictures
I've got a 39mb time lapse
Edit, here's a version for the web.
What settings (etc) did you use to get it like that?
Great job Isaac!
