I was always told to drink a protien shake about 30 mins after working out...
Who the fuck thinks those things anyways? "the "post workout window" lasts at least 24 hours" ? this must be for retards or something
i have alway had a shake before i trained and right after sometimes, then followed it up with two more solid meals until bed. Hey an i did that on my own thoughts, I got lucky i guess
So your suppose to wait an hour after a work out to have your protein shake? Also whats noctournal meals?

What i mean is are they talking about meals right before bed or just past 10:30?

Some of it is accurate, some of it is wrong, and a lot of it just doesn't matter either way. The human body was designed to digest food. Period. I always laugh when people get into pissing contests about whey isolate vs whey hydrolysate vs casein and timing various vitamins and minerals together. Just make sure that you're getting enough protein of reasonably high quality, enough vitamins and minerals, and enough total calories. Don't overthink it.

You have to wake up at 3am to eat because your body fasts while you sleep
right now i break up my post-workout drink into two parts
first part i drink right after training, which just carbs-- vitargo and cytomax, mixed with the second serving of creatine and l-glutamine-- which ends up being about 100g of carbs.
then after i get home, i whip up just a scoop of ON with a cup of milk, 1/2 banana, and a tablespoon of Udo's Choice Oil. by the time i drink this, it's been roughly a half hour after the workout ... sometimes 45 min. then i'll have one or two more solid meals and a little snack before bed.
and in case you guys are wondering, i am getting a little flabbier with this relatively clean bulking diet.
How long before the workout should I eat and after? 1 hour spreads? Shakes with both meals?
I drink my shake with aminos right before i train actually..I usually wait 30 minutes to have the shake after..sometimes i eat a solid meal instead if im starving then have the shake with fats(musclemilk) before bed instead.
Damn, if I tried to eat right before I worked out, I'd probably yack in the middle of my workout.
