Toyota Camrys and RAV4s will get an engine made in China. Toyota and China's Guangzhou Automobile Group last week broke ground on an engine plant that will produce 2.4-liter engines. In 2005, the plant will build 25,000 engines, all exported to Japan for installation in Toyota vehicles.

    Link?

I wouldn't support Communism - not that I'd ever buy a Toyota. I hate all of their cars from Camry to CamryLS430.

DaimlerChrysler AG has begun searching for suppliers in China to make low-cost parts for its brands and auto operations worldwide.

Cheap, union-free, Chinese labor is going to be the new hotness in the auto industry. :eek3:

Yes, and DCX is going to have one, and others will follow. It's going to be a big money saving trend.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all, but knowing OT if someone made a thread about GM doing it would be BAD although every other manufacturer is doing the same thing.

Everyone already has or is gonna follow suit eventually...major businesses can't survive without cross-national production networks these days.
