i've done a recent project where the entire site was about 600x600 total res, and what i did was instead of slicing everything up, i would save every image as it's own "layer" as a transparent gif with diffuse and white matte's activated in CS2. i was able to mix in some transparent SWF files too.

that was about a year ago and i'm trying to remember how i did this for another project that is coming up. my question is anyone have experience with coding up something similar to this? obviously all the divs would be on a z-index. also what is the best way to save a transparent gif that involves dropshadows without worrying about the shadows looking grainy/noisy? i can't seem to find the right settings to get it to look right.

why this method? just something different i guess and saves a lot of time :o
