I have a NVTV16 in a media-center box. I am going to replace the MCE box with something newer/better. I would like to move the NVTV16 into my main machine, however, as the NTVT is an OEM solution for MCE, it does not come with any software (simply comes with drivers).

Any suggestions on good FREE (can be beer or speech, I'm not picky) tuner programs that will provide GUI access utilizing the NVTV API?

Google is worthless or I'm using the wrong keywords. (I don't want to use MCE, and that's all they talk about).

I used the ATI one, that came with their All in Wonder Cards. I think it also works with 3rd party hardware. It was pretty good. Channel guide, DVR, etc. :dunno:

MediaPortal is the only thing that jumps to mind. Don't know about support for that particular card though.

VideoLAN will accept mpeg encoder input too but I think it only supports Hauppauge stuff.

mediaportal is pretty nice. you need to have a decently beefy system and it's hit or miss wether your card is supported or not
