So what now for matt sera? I think his next fight will be against matt hughes
matt hughes, loss, retirement
yeah every one was making a big deal about him but I always said he wasnt as good as the hype. The best thing he ever did in his career was beat GSP thats the top of the ice berg for serra. I think how its going to go down for serra is that while GSP gets his other two title defenses out of the way he will fight mat Hughes and then maybe some random can to set him up for a third fight. GSP already said he would give him a rematch in new york if he wanted to.
I hope he beats hughes though I dont really see that happening on the ground the way GSP ran him. I think he has better hands then hughes though. Serra vs Hughes would be big.
Serra Hughes - Serra takes it and retires.
it sure was the top of the ice berg
Serra is never going to get another title shot.
Name 3 guys at the top of 170 that he can beat in a row.
Hughes lol, but I doubt he's even in the top 3 anymore.
If he wins the next fight, I think they would give him another title shot. Not because he deserves it, but just because it might bring money. They've each won against each other, just one more fight to settle the "tie".
hughes has lost to.....?
the big money fight to make with serra next is hughes. too bad for serra, because he'll lose that.
I'd like to see Serra at 155 again a few times after he fights Hughes, I think he can come in and beat some guys there.
I'd also like to see Franklin fight Henderson, I think that could be a good fight. Or maybe Bisping, I don't know, kinda a soft division aside from Anderson.
I always thought serra was going to move to 155, he said it when he was on the ultimate fighter, he just happaned to beat GSP. Im guessing Hughes then 155
lmao, i didnt recognize during the PPV he flipped him off while running backwards
if hughes would lower himself to fight a 1/2 assed fighter like serra he would win by any way he chooses
now lets be reasonable. Serra isn't a half-assed fighter. He came in there, looked in great shape and well-prepared, and just came up short. He just doesn't have much to offer the top-level guys, but I don't think that deserves the "half assed".
The camera view was behind him. I did a double take on it and was like noo way.. Then saw the gif
UFC 83 - Download the Fights
Matt Serra vs. Georges St-Pierre
Rich Franklin vs. Travis Lutter
Michael Bisping vs. Charles McCarthy
Mac Danzig vs. Mark Bocek
Nate Quarry vs. Kalib Starnes
Jonathan Goulet vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka
anyone have a link to the vid
I was disappointed to see Starnes fight himself right out of an MMA career. He's done in the UFC for sure and who else will sign him now? His last fight vs Belcher was very gutsy and it was too bad that fight was stopped. I was expecting the complete opposite of what we saw last night.
Poor sportsmanship by Quarry though.
he wasn't very guts vs. belcher either. he kind of got beaten like a slave.
he cowered away from Leben too.
and him "fighting" his way out of a career isn't really the right verb.
Why? For pointing out what a mockery Kalib made of that fight? Quarry was super frustrated, he was just pointing out the obvious that no matter what he did Kalib would just run like a bitch. The guy deserves to be laughed at and mocked, he didn't deserve any respect and Quarry didn't give him any, makes sense to me.
100% NOTHING against what quarry did. Starnes fucking embarrassed himself and if I were his coaches I'd ditch him.
