For those that were in the other Cougar thread, you probably already know that Beretta refused to refinish the gun. I was disappointed, since I wanted this to be covered under their crappy 1 yr warranty. But oh well. Now it just gives me a chance to send it off somewhere for some kind of custom finish (more on that later). Before the pics, this is what Beretta said in the manefest it sent back with the gun, word for word. Now the pictures, just taken tonight after I received the gun back. 3 barrel pics next to the slide, the slide is obviously the original color of the barrel: 2 pictures of the rust forming on the whatever the fuck you call it: I realize this is my word against theirs, and I could be embellishing the story to make it sound worse, but I promise to you I'm telling the truth and this is what happened. The finish on the barrel basically just deteriorated. I never left any Hoppe's on the barrel for an extended period of time, and it never touched any other chemicals. My personal opinion is this, if their finish can't handle Hoppe's #9, there is something seriously wrong with their finish. That's like the most popular gun cleaning solution on the planet. With all of that said, where should I send my gun to have it refinished? I remember there were a few places mentioned on here awhile back, and one of them was in, I wanna say, Arkansas or Alabama, but I can't remember the name. It needs to be a decent price, I can't afford a $500 finish, and nor is this gun worth that. But give me any ideas you can think of.
