USB question

    I bought my gf this snowman that you plug into your usb port and it lights up....the problem is that it doesn't turn on with the computer....is there a way to set it so it does????



    p.s. it was a xmas present

    Does it use software to turn on? If so you can put it in the startup folder in Start/programs.

    no it doesn't have any software

    you have to unplug it and plug it in....
    i'm wondering if i get a hug and hook it up to some other device like her printer if that will turn it on.....

    A powered hub would probably keep it on.

    werd......i don't think it's worth it though.....o well i guess she will have to unplug and plug it back in everytime she uses it

    Have a look in the BIOS for a setting called USB 2 HS Reference Voltage and set it to maximum and try it then. Normally when you power on a computer with a USB device plugged in it won't get enough power so won't turn on unless you set it in the BIOS to high or max.

    i couldn't find any controls for USB voltage.....
    sometimes the snowman lights up at startup and sometime it doesn't

    the snowman works just fine
    it just doesn't start with the computer....and i actually have this problem with my card reader once in awhile.....it doesn't work and i reboot and then it works or it works then i reboot then it doesn't
