i'm on the waiting list for the bullet feeder addon
I dont really know the processing of loading or reloading, but that machine ONLY sits the bullet into the casing? Or does it prime and fill it with powder also?
that's fucking awesome, and might give me an excuse to get into reloading
on a dillon XL650, which is what I have
station 1: resize cartridge and de-prime
station 2: insert primer, bell upper edge of cartridge to accept bullet, fill with pre-measured amount of powder
station 3: check powder fill, sound alarm if out of tolerance
station 4: seat bullet
station 5: crimp bullet
everytime you pull the lever, each station does its function and another round pops out
with the dillon XL650/550 you have to do two things-
a.) place the case
b.) place the bullet
with a case feeder (available for both from dillon), which acts like a paintball gun's hopper, rotates when needed and feeds cases down to the plate, the only thing left to do is place the bullet
with this bullet feeder add on, all you do is pull the handle and a round pops out...now imagine an air compressor pulling the handle for you.............
How much would a setup like that cost? . I'm going to be getting a dillon XL550 or 650 very soon.
a 1050 is right around $1500 depending on catridge.
i picked up my XL650 already "accessorized" out for about $950
threw some more $$ at it to tool for 45ACP, but you can go the minimum route (just dies/conversion kit) or you can go all out (quick change stand, seperate tool head, etc)
I did the latter, of course, but reloading is fun!, I will make a savings in shooting 1000rounds/month doing IPSC and also the 50cal weapons i have are great reloading candidates
i just have an RCBS rock chucker since I'm not a volume shooter but I'd like to have an excuse to have an auto some day
