The only one I got real sense of natural aloneness was 2-3, the others seem staged.
Staged or not, there were many good entries that carried the theme. I liked #2, but #5 won for me. While staged, it had a much more interesting composition, more contrast, and more originality.
I was pretty happy with the turn out this time... I had 2 other entries that did not have exif info, and were questionable in regards to when they were shot... I emailed the owners back, but never got a response, so they were left out.
I think if #5 didnt have the cars there it would have more sense of the theme. But the lighting and DOF was perfect
I thought #5 captured the theme the best
Number 2 definitely, no question. 3 was composed perfectly as well.
i see what you mean. when i first looked at it though, i didn't notice the cars much. they were part of the institution of the background.
damn, mine isn't on there.
The contemporary style leans a little more toward staged at the moment. I for one kinda like the staged moment (when appropriate).
#8 made me think of "side of tears"
it was a tossup between 2 and 3 for me
whoever submitted number 2 and 3 should check out this thread:
3 seems boring to me..it's just a bench...meh
2 gets my vote
I like #2 but I just feel like the blacks could be blacker...maybe its just me.
I had a hard time deciding between 2 and 3.
I would have liked 5 if 1) from that angle, you saw an empty street behind the person or 2) angle went down lower to show them alone next to the striking height of the buildings
2 got my vote, however 5 was really close. Should of been multi vote.
its a tree
just went back through my emails and I don't see an entry from you.
The same could be said about the 2, it's just a tree...meh
you didn't add my pic
Yeah, but I like the look of it better...the colors..and nature in general over an empty bench.
3 would have worked had there been a person or something with the bench...as it is it doesn't really convey alone to me...
