I was the 2nd shooter at this wedding on Sat. My buddy's wife set it up since she knows I've been trying to get more practice w/ weddings. Sorry about the collages, I did that for my blog. Thanks for looking.

I really like most of them.

I am not liking the shallow DoF on teh jewelry though especially the wedding bands. I wish the entire fronts of them were in focus.

And I have a question for you on the wedding cake - did you should that with a flash off camera, on camera or did you brighten it up in post. I love how the cake is lit so bright but then there is such a sharp light falloff even at the table. I like it

thanks. yeah, the shallow dof on the rings is always my safe go-to, i was actually trying to hard-light and stop down, but those weren't looking very great.

the cake shot was naturally lit. i purposely underexposed the shot knowing that i was going to bump it up later. also, it was sitting on a table by this bush wall which provided a nice dark background to contrast against. additionally, it was a very cloudy day which made the colors pop. (actually rained a bit on everything, which sucked but luckily it stopped.) the light falloff is vignette added in post.

 detail shots man

anything look familiar? i learned from the best :hsd:

awesome pics.

thanks man!

You need practice?

i fuck up a lot still

:h5:

I think these are fucking great if you're beginning.
looks good man

thanks bro. this was the 9th wedding i shot/2nd shot. helps if the people are attractive and/or if they spend on decor. this is my first year so i still feel like i'm new to this.

I make a motion to move you to 1st shooter...

All in favor?

Nice work dude! :bigthumb:

thanks!

:bigthumb:

I agree 100%, the entire series is exceptional. :wiggle:

such a drag to look at "hey I gots me a dslr, and I just shot my first wedding" threads and then brace for the inevitable :hsugh: and then :ugh: and then :hs:

nicely laid album pages too. clean & powerful.
