4 meals a day, 7 days. how would you do it today?
not even for just you?
I currently do $80 every two weeks
i can get all of my veggies and breakfast foods for that much, but there's no way to get meat for 7 days on a budget like that
Maybe if you find a shop where restaurants get their stuff. A huge bag of rice or pasta, big can of mixed veggies, huge cans of salmon, eggs. Something along those lines.
I could probably do it but sometime that's just one meal.
3lb bag of salmon filets = $18
10lb bag of frozen raw chicken breasts = $20
4.5lb deli cut turkey breast = $7
that leaves you $5 for veggies and carbs?
I spend about $40-$90 a week for just myself.
the 10lb bags are 15bucks at the sams near my house.
substitute that 3lb bag of salmon for something cheaper. tuna?
50 bucks a week should be plenty, but it all depends on what your intake looks like. ie, how much will you eat in a day?
sams also has a huge ass bag of frozen broccoli for around 5 bucks, i always get one when i'm over there
they were $16.xx 2 weeks ago, when i went last week they were $18.xx so i rounded up to include tax.
I buy yogurt in bulk from Wal-Mart.
.30 a pop Great Value brand
Where do you find that?? Lunchmeat from the deli is $$$ by me.
it says sam's at the beginning of the post...
lots and lots of chicken tits and oats
Go to walmart
3 bags of chicken (great value kind) $18
1 london broil steak $7 should be good for 2 meals
2 carts of eggs 2 1/2 dozen each $9
2 bags rice $3
1 tube of oats $3
2% milk $3
Still have like $6 left over for tax.
damn... now i'm hungry for steak.
that meal plan has no veggies....
Grow them in your yard.
Or take the $6 that was left over and buy 6 bags of frozen greens, that'll last a week easily.
You could buy about 12lbs of steak, and steal your protein powder.
if you don't mind doing the work I would probably buy a couple of whole chickens and cutting them up. otherwise it would be hard to get cheap, decent quality protein. for $50.
fuck it, just raise chickens in your yard too, and get a dairy cow, spend that 50 dollars on feed and an axe for when your ready to off one of them for a meal.
