Looks like I have a lot of work to do before September. :noes:

    Info on the event:
I think I'm going to run the 120mph class. Gonna try and get my power steering setup complete, a roll bar, and some new tires this month. Fucking crazy, but I don't think I can pass up something that fun. :noes:

Here's Big Red back in the day running the event:

God damnit, I promised myself I wouldn't do any serious racing/events until I bought the house.

As such, SSC is on my "To Do" list. So jealous :wtc:

The entry fees range from $495 for Touring Division to $780 for Unlimited. There is an additional $150 charge for a navigator and $250 for running the open practice session. First time participants are required to attend a qualifying session which costs an additional $250.

Its entered quite a few events but it showing its age. It doesn't hold up too well to all the modern suspension setups and technology floating around. If budget were no issue, I'd like the final product of my car to be a similar build. All out.

Like we've discussed before - I think the answer is an all new build ... if money were no object.

I was there in 2000 when the LeBaron made it's record run. :o

be aware though, the mile markers are far from being accurate and make sure you pick a good navigator. If nothing has changed, first timers are still restricted to the lower brackets. 110mph class is the tops I believe.

yup leaning that direction as well. Which means the car will stay the same with a few tweaks until the economy gets better and car prices go back up a bit. Right now I could sell the car with a paintjob and its a pretty well sorted car for someone.

I think I'm best off starting with a solid shell and taking it straight to a chassis shop. Build from the ground up. Set the motor back a bit for 50/50 weight distribution, full tube frame, aluminum big block with fuel injection, full cage, fire systems, the works.

And a full OEM interior so I can drive it on the street
