and tried my hand at these. What say you??
right before the rain came
after the rain
I like #4.
is that your daughter?
Good god no! A couple of models I found on Model Mayhem.
#4 looks really good
#2 and #5 I think may need a brighter/softer fill on the left of the guy's face.
I shot a few with my fill light turned on (like #6) but I liked the contrasty look on the shots of the guy.
#6 ... IMMA RAPE YOUZ.
I REALLY like #4. How did you light these?
three lights mostly, sometimes just two. The speedlight in the foreground was moved to the back to light the person in the background on most of the shots. On shot #3 (before the rain) I took the umbrella off the light and just used the reflector to light the background person.
#4 is excellent.
just out of curiosity, were there any ebony and ivory jokes exchanged at this shoot?
after looking at it the second time, the angle that you shot makes the girl look like she is monsterously large and the background model look extremely little. i dont have any ideas as far as solving it, but it is a great looking photo but the more i stare at it the more im thinking its godzilla.
Thanks. Seems like #4 is the favorite. I personally like #1 the best.
No black/white jokes. These two have worked together in the past. They're both really nice people. I'm going to do another shoot with them Tuesday.
I love the pp on 1, can you share how you did it?
I would love four if the guy was a bit closer. Also hate the location.
One of many presets I have in Lightroom. I'd have to deconstruct it to tell you exactly what it does but it's basically a sepia tone.
I dont like the double wrap on 2 and 5 but your pp is nice
the reason it was on my mind was because that movie with ashton kutcher and bernie mac was on earlier, and he meets bernie mac but he doesnt know that his daughter's boyfriend is white and they are in the car and ebony and ivory are playing.
as for the shoot next week, looking forward to seeing it. and check your pm
do you still have all of your camera gear?
i keed i keed...
holy shit, hairy arms
Holy fucking shit you old bastard the first one is fantastic. Like, I would totally buy one if I saw that in a magazine.
What was the arrangement with the models?
The light is a little hard in some of them, but if that's the look you were going for, bravo.
Thanks for the props!!
This was a TFP shoot (time for print) I'll give them a CD with the images and a couple of prints.
thank you, I was indeed going for a harder, "industrial" look to the light, especially on the male. That's why I chose this particular location.
probably the best work I've seen from your photography side.... definitely make this your "usual" work. That 1st shot is outstanding
