...as opposed to fixed?
Pistols or rifles? With rifles, you don't want fixed sights at all. You'd never get the rifle sighted. For pistols, you don't need adjustable sights if the pistol is made properly from the factory. Adjustable sights on pistols are there to make up for shitty shooting habits.
untrue if you're a target shooter.
it's designed for longer range. combat pistols are usually sighted in at 25 yards, and will perform as intended at the accepted combat range avg of 7 yards. pin shooting can happen at ranges as long as 50 yards. the adjustable fixture helps in elevation corrections. for some classes of target pistol, it works in tandem with a custom chiseled and weighted grip to properly sight in a highly modified gun.
but it has little to no use on a combat pistol.
yeah, i suppose i should've made the distinction.
u can see close...
and non... close..
New to me were the cam screw aritocrat sights 3 selectable and independantly adjustable zeros... good for Pin shooting and PPC etc etc target only style sights.
Good for zeroing ni diffrent distances and juts selecting wich setting suites the current scenerio or what distance you're at on the range.
