I just got back in to the gym this week after about a year of being lazy and now I'm sore as fuck.
If it's damage sore take it easy, if it's work sore ... just work through it.
I'm sure you'll get some great answers ...
sauna + stretching
2 x aleve, rest, sleep, magnesium + zinc., water.
werd on the hot tub if you can swing that.
Yeah that's exactly what I have been doing after workouts, I can't even move my arms and legs barely right now. I went to CVS to see if they had anything the Pharmacist recommended taking a salt bath, anyone try this?

occasionally i'll take ibuprofen if my legs are bad and i gotta be on my feet all day.

Work through it. It'll eventually subside after a few weeks into it.
lay in bed massaging my quads for hours

Yeah thats what I usually do I was just hoping for a quick method cause I have our first softball game tomorrow night. I couldnt have picked a better week to start working out lol
epsom salt helps, you have to use half of a half gallon carton of epsom salt. I bought the R.E.V brand, (the green one) the have them in the first aid aisle at cvs

Work through it. Working out will actually help lose the soreness sooner.
I can't seem to find the time these days to do this... but I used to follow every workout with a protein/creatine shake, 15min in the hot tub, and then 10min in the sauna. (in addition to stretching routines of course).
Doing this is like a night and day difference in how sore I am compared to now (when I can't do that).
I hope to get back on that routine soon. It's just hard to schedule 2+ hours in the gym between lifting, cardio, hot tub, sauna, shower.

when i was training for the marathon after running for the day id take a 30 - 60 minute hot bath

I always find protein powder helps.
