Anyone have a green laser pointer?
i think they're a waste of money... why not get a red one? Other than to be "different" what does it matter?
i dunno... but i like green.. so if i ever needed/wanted a laser pointer i would try and get a green one.
you might want to make sure they are legal in your area
okay, so get what floats your boat.
My whole point is that you can get like 5+ red ones for the price of a green one.
wow. jollyogre really does post b.s. regardless of whether or not he has a clue about the topic. i was fairly certain of it before, but now i have no doubt.
google "green lasers" for more.
p.s. IL =
how is what I posted bs? You posted a $100 laser... you know how cheap red ones are?
Red lasers are cheap, and if all you want to do is shine red dots on walls, etc., they're fine for that.
Green lasers are generally desirable for people who want a high powered laser.
Astronomy buffs often use a green laser because its powerful enough that you can actually see the beam. You then use it to point out stars or other various sky objects to others.
You can't see the beam on a red laser, so for this application, a red one is useless. You can buy a thousand red ones, still useless.
The point is that there is a reason why people might specifically need a green laser, and they are much more powerful than a red laser. Powerful enough that you couldn't get them in some places, although this restriction may be relaxed nowadays.
There is a difference.
Just don't point'em at a plane.
