nikon 85mm 1.4 ais
what camera are you using?
I dont believe AIS lenses meter on a d80, so it would be 100% manual. If you are alright with that, go for it. A pre-AI 90mm/f2.5 Vivitar is still my favorite lens for my d40. It'll make you good at manual focusing and guessing exposure.
cool. Im still learning, and I know with a crop body, itll be more reach, but I think for now, that is what I want, a little distance from the subject.
is this particular lens a good buy?
post how it goes.
im curious about ais lenses, but the no metering and manual focus would be annoying for me.
It's a great lens, but i think the price is too high
heres a review
u can get the 85mm f/1.4 AF for around 900
you think the price is too high for you to spend? or in comparison to other lenses? this is the only one I could find. Im still on the fence on pulling the trigger, but I also found that this is about the going rate.
