reading his review for the nikon 17-55 and he much prefers the 18-55 kit lens...
people who click on the links to buy from a store form his site are people who are in the market for a D40 or D60 or D90 and who want a kit. They just want a pat on the back and a push forward to motivate them on making their purchase.
Thus his site feeds them hopes, dreams, and encouragement.
He is the internets biggest troll. I wouldn't even allow him to wet my balls after a work out.
out of sight, out of mind
Yep, I tend to forget he exists until threads like this come up again.
The guy is a minimalist. He'd put a ferrari body kit on a 1992 Pontiac Grand Am so long as "it looked good enough"
he also claims tripods are no longer effective ever, even on long exposures.
He just says things to incite a reaction on forums and get more hits on his website. It's like how people slow down to look at a car wreck on the side of the highway.
its really kind of sad that he is pretty much the front for photography when anyone does a simple google search...
that's it exactly.
I don't get the hate...
For 95% of the people in the universe, he's right. Those people wouldn't see the value of the 17-55 over the kit lens, they don't need more MP than the d40, and full frame isn't worth the money.
For those of us who don't fit the majority, we know this already.
his d90 guide helped me learn the menus/settings of my camera in like a day. thank god cuz the manual sucked balls
you make a good point
no learning through trial and error, no care
thom hogan's guides are way better.
But he's such a kook though! I can't help but at the shit he writes.
lol he's from long island
WTF is a manual?
very interesting video skimax
Kinda what I said no?
Personally I didn't find anything useful about his D90 other than to "reset the settings".
