Can it top what I just read on another forum?
Alright that's a good one.
.22 will enter your chest and come out your foot.
.50bmg will rip someones arm off if it gets within 5' of them
glocks are made of porcelain. I really heard a guy say that in the gym.
anything related to knock down power
Almost any anti-gun argument.
"It's the shoulder thing that goes up"
The reason for the primer shortage is the housing slow down.
They can also go through metal detectors un-detected.
Yeah, that ranks pretty high up there...
In "Die Hard 2", John McLane told the police chief that the terrorist was using a "Glock 7" a porcelain gun made in Germany that won't show up on airport x-ray security.
Even ignoring that Glocks are made in Austria, not Germany, and that Glock has never made a porcelain gun or a model number 7, the barrel, slide, magazine, and bullets would all still be metal and show up on the x-ray.
My brother keeps telling me that Mattel makes/made M16s and that in 5 minutes he can make my AR full-auto.
He's 100% serious unfortunately.
not the stupidest, but my favorite... just a pie slice of a convo with an anti, as seen though the eyes of QT... skip to 2:35
i remember hearing that like 20-25 years ago.
apparently he has friends that were in "the nam". Unfortunately, most of them would have been in "the nam" at the age of 12 but he doesn't realize this strange fact and believes their shit.
edit: in my brother's defense....he was a raging alcoholic for some time and has been sober a while....he seems far less fucking stupid at this point....maybe there's hope
Not the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but a firearms instructor told me that I shouldn't single-load rounds into my AR because it makes the extractor jump over the rim of the cartridge, and that'll damage it.
that shots fired from a .22 pistol will penetrate the skull, and then bounce around on the inside killing you instantly.
and that shit's from a former police officer.
And just think, she gets paid about $170k a year for being that dumb, plus benefits.
too many people get most/all of their firearm related knowledge from movies....
I thought that was true... isn't that why Isreal used .22s for sniping?
no no, from like 50 yards, he said he saw a guy use a .22 pistol, shoot into one side of the guy's head, then he said he could see the guy shaking and convulsing as it bounced around in the head, then he dropped dead. i was like whooooa (he's one of my bosses so i humor him so i dont get fired in an at-will employment state)
.22s used at close range will kill reliably with headshots. The use of .22s in sniping is generally with a suppressor for very quiet, close range kills. They also use suppressed .22s to kill guard dogs.
They use them for crowd control too.
oh shit, who could forget this gem. " the sound of a racking shotgun will make an intruder run away"
statistically speaking that is pretty much true. Noggy Jenkins isn't going to stick around when he knows there is an armed homeowner awake and ready to take his lid off. It's the fools who think they need 19 rounds of super hi power exploding armor piercing bullets with unobtainium alloy tips, tactical lights, lasers, night sights, and reflexes and training that would make the Spetsnaz nervous just to protect your home, THOSE are the tools who make gun owners look bad.
