I've been eating Promax Cookies 'n Cream for a couple years now and want to try something else.
i make my own
mix PB and whey together in bowl and put in fridge
I may just end up doing that.
Promax nutty butter crisp
im also trying to stay away from soy-based ones...thank god promax is a milk blend
Met-RX bars from wal-mart. Only like $1.67 for a 410 calorie bar with 32 grams of protein. And some of them taste real good.
Anyone try the musclemilk bars? love the taste though damn expensive. Same price as others per box, but only 8 per box instead of 12.
doesn't sound like a bad idea
and it tastes awesome and is healthier imo and cheaper. and you can modify the ingredients.
theres no reason to buy packaged bars imo
ISS Research Pro42
Why? Tried some other bars and they tasted like candy (I don't like super sweet things)
Good amount of everything: 42g protein, 38 carb, 9 fat, sodium+potassium, vitamins and minerals and whatnot, 410 calories
Kinda tastes like powder and it's hard to get down (definitely need water) so i'm open for suggestions too.
^this, except from my grocery store
Anyone have any good recipes? I tried to make some tonight with: milk, oats, egg whites, peanut butter, and chocolate whey and it was ok...just not sweet at all and quite dry.
i get them cheap at sams
More homemade recipes?
trader joes stopped carrying them
Universal Proteon bars. The Biotest metabolic drive bars are pretty tasty too.
Adding applesauce can help with both of those problems.
I'll give that a go in the next batch, thanks.
I switch it up alot but detour bars are cheap, low calorie, and high protien. And they taste good.
just blend the two and it's done?
I PMed him and here's the answer I received on how to make them:
hey. all i do is put about 3 cups of PB in a large bowl and throw in enough scoops of whey so that it drys up the gooeyness of the PB but also leaving the mixture moldable. sometimes i put in some oats and olive oil. you just dont want a really gooey mess. after i mix it and mold it into a large sqaure i put it in the fridge for a few hours and cut into pieces. i basically make them impromptu every time
nice I just tried it (without refrigerating) and it takes almost exactly like reeces PB cups.
werd. theyre good and cheap
what flavor protein?
I'm going to assume chocolate.
