There are like a billion different 870's listed on remington 870..?
Usually the cheapest ones
The one near me stocks versions of the Express. Don't think I've seen any with shorter barrels there.
Because Remington makes a different model for walmart than they do for other retailers
and why's that?
Express combo. I have one and it's a POS
Alot of sporting good companies do just that
They make shittier quality versions for certain retailers?? Yeah, ok.
I never said shitty, but yes, retailers make specific models for certain companies. There were Remington CDL's in calibers exclusive to Cabela's earlier this year, Dicks has alot of fishing reels that are made just for them, Gander Mountain has special Mossberg 535 Combos, and the list goes on and on.
and when it comes to shitty, Leupold orginally made the shittier Rifleman series just for Walmart, but now they're avialable pretty much anywhere.
Kinda like how you shouldn't buy ammo at Walmart?
If its anything like the Big 5. It is an 870 Express Magnum. I love mine. First gun i ever bought. Worth every penny.
I don't see what the big deal is about buying guns at Wal-Mart
Love my Express Super Mag. Didn't come from Walmart though.
There's nothing wrong with them, except for the horrible, horrible finish.
Alot of people want to support their local gun shops and will encourage others to do the same. Megaloland can't offer the same kind of service and knowledge on firearms as a respectable gun shop. Even if it costs a few extra bucks its seen as worth it.
That being said, I don't even know the last time i heard someone buy a 10/22 that WASN'T from wally world.
I have heard horry storries. I had the wood coated by a wood working friend (didnt turn out too great, but its protected and a little smoother), but i havnt had any problems with the finish (yet).
I don't mind supporting my local gun store but when a few bucks becomes $100 I have to draw the line.
The one I got from Big-5 has an awesome finish imo
congrats, i got the same one. the Stock and Forgrip have a nicer grain then mine did. But now mine looks not so great since the finish the lady put on stripped some of the stain off.
Congrats on the purchase, you made a good choice in my biased opinion.
His looks like laminate to me
I was going to buy my 10/22 at wally world, then I realized that in NC, if you arent from one of the contiguous states around it, your SOL, no gun for you. So off to Dicks in South Carolina to get the damn thing. Worth every penny tho.
Not in this price range. My buddy's mossburg with teh synthetic feels so plasticy and cheap i dont like shooting it as much. I love the solid feel of wood stocks.
but on my other friends model 70, i like the synthetic/ ss barrel much better.
In my opinion good wood feels and looks better than just about any factory synthetic stock, and alot of aftermarkets. Pretty much every factory synthetic, especially the one on your 870, are hollow, plastic crap.
