Intel or AMD?
Does it really matter all that much? Itd be mostly for photo stuff..

Thats what I was leaning towards. So the 1600MHz FSB on the AMDs doesnt matter?
I cant convince myself to give up the PC. Even if the macs really are marginally better, I feel so much more at home on a PC that its just not worth it to me personally.
I also dont want to spend that much on a laptop.
How about this? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8514235&type=product&id=1186006196444
Is there something better out there I should be looking at? I dont like that the HDD is only 4200 RPM though...
Only looking to spend 1000~1300
How about this one?
I can understand where you're coming from in terms of price, but if it's the OS that is a major concern, just run Boot Camp--I switch to XP every few hours to play some Call of Duty 4.
Core 2 Duo anything else is subpar
i just picked up a new black macbook. really nice. 2.2ghz, 2 gig memory, yadda...
I just cant do the macbook thing
Its nice, I was processing my RAW images on the airplane on the way home from North Carolina with ease.
It really is the best for extensive photo stuff

Just the fastest, right? And by how much?
I mean if its only a couple seconds out of something 45 seconds long, I couldnt care less about that. Now if it actually made the pictures look better, Id care. Since thats not the case...meh...
Well, just think of this: in a few years it'll be obsolete.
