What security system do you have at home?

Door locks and just installed some cameras over the weekend. Neighborhood isn't really a prime spot for crime as there's only one way in/out unless you wanna swim away from the scene.

edit: and dogs too

edit 2: benelli nova

Living in a cul de sac ftw for these reasons

Only cars that pass through are the neighbors...no random cars driving through and not likely for porch thieves to wanna hit. Quiet AF too

i see a ton of posts on the neighbors app about people checking cars at 3am in every hood around me. yet to see it in mine. guess they do actually have some sense when they do it.

Formerly had ADT but they wanted $150 to make a service call for what seemed to be faulty equipment. Switched over to Ring for $100 a year and no problems (ADT was $45 a month). Wondering if the cops will show up at your house for an alarm the answer is yes.

Frontpoint, it’s stupid expensive but I like the IOS widget so I haven’t changed. New house will come with a Ring system, looking forward to switching.

Does anyone use an Ecobee security service? We already have some room and door sensors for thermostat automation so I wonder if it’s worth a shit or not.

(Guessing not)

Vivint. It's good enough for now I guess. Will probably install cameras at a new house.

I am playing with the Ubiquiti Protect. As I just got broadband to the house, and good weather, I now have to actually tune the alerts, motion zones etc.

I’ve heard their mobile app integration is a pile of dogshit, despite the hardware appearing slick.

It definitely could be better, especially when local network and the system knows it you still end up going through their servers to get local while on the app.

Skipping back in time and management is overly simple and really if being packaged as a whole suite with a UDM-Pro or Wall Pro, it makes one stop shopping easier

Alert360 (through Alarm.com)

Signed up when we built the house. Once my contract is up, going to probably switch to one of the DIY services for monitoring doors/windows and then POE cameras with an NVR for video.
