used- and does anyone have a 50mm they want to sell for a nikon
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Under $300 if you can find a deal. There's quite a few on POTN
I just got my Nikon 50 1.4 in yesterday. By far the most fun I have had with a lens.
I paid $300 for mine.
is it worth the price increase over the 1.8?? Whats the main difference?
build quality. sharpness. 1/3 stop faster.
I've seen them quite regularly for $250-275
Haven't been looking lately tho.
They are out of stock new everywhere now, so prices are hovering more around $300. I haven't seen many sell for under that lately.
I paid $260 for mine with the additional Canon hood, but I responded to an ad on FM 2 minutes after it was posted. You have to get lucky to find them under $300.
It's worth it just for the AF. Even though the 1.4 uses micro USM, which isn't nearly as nice as ring USM, the AF is 11ty times better than the 50 1.8. Metal mount, nice focus ring, distance window, etc. Well worth the upgrade if you like the focal length.
I think I paid $275 w/box and hood from OTAP
I have to admit the 50 1.8 SUCKS for autofocus.. plus its WICKED loud.. you go to autofocus and its like "FFWEEET... FWEEET.."
I paid 300 for mine. Came with box/hood and just came back from canon for cleaning/tuning. He gave me the canon receipt too.
will you guys post some of your shots with it?
