is it worth $400?
you usually get what you pay for when it comes to lenses.
If you look around you can find the 70-200 f/4 for 50-100 more and it's a much much better lens
and when you upgrade to the 2.8 IS, the F4 will sell for pretty much what you bought it for.
the 70-300 is a nice lens, but the 70-200 f/4L is that much nicer. If you're on a cropped body, the 70-200 will act like an 105-300, so I wouldnt worry about focal length.
L series FTW.
i will order a Promaster 17-50 f/2.8 (tamron rebadged).
looking for a 70-200 F4 L, as my zoom lens
these will be my lenses for now.... till I get better.
is that a new 17-50? if so where did you buy it from?
wait, isnt the 17-50 promaster just for nikon?
I have the lens TS mentions. I love it. Takes great shots. For $50-100 less.
Nope, still same Tammy, but sold under another company. Only difference is price and warranty. Well there might be one more difference...The Tammys are either built in Japan(older models=better), or China (newer ones), but the Promaster might be solely built in China.
PS. the china ones have poorer product control standards, so you're more likely to get an out of focus one.
so I've been searching for used 70-200mm F4 L lens, and they are going for about $500 ($495-$515) used.....
new ones are $599 shipped! fuck that, I'm buying a new one
if you watch for a deal, you can pick them up for $450ish shipped
