Whats the best way to fix overexposed windshields like this
if they're clipped they're clipped..ie 255+ on the tonal scale. Playing with curves and levels are one way of recovery. Another is actually lowering the contrast, which will lower the highlights, but then you will need to add contrast manually with the shadows slider. Obviously you are not going to recover much information but you could at least make it less distracting by pulling the the top right curves anchor down to about 250 (output) which will clip out 5 points of highlights (white) but be less distracting. Of course I'm on my old shitty lap top, so what I am seeing is probably much different than a normal computer.
tried it adjusting the curves. looks better
Nice work man
Man, that chick must eat some SERIOUS fiber. She's shat out a fucking car!
The best way to fix those underexposed windshields is to use a CPL
look, I'm Hash Browns! 3 posts for the price of one.
As I said earlier Jason, looking really good man. Cant wait to see the rest of them!
dont have a 77mm one so i shot in raw to be able to try and fix it
RAW is not a magic bullet for bad camera work, sorry.
You can try creating a second RAW develop, adjusting exposure for just the windshield area and then layering it over the normal image using a layer mask. It's a lot of work and probably won't help that much...
the second one works enough
gotta work with what you have
Wow that made a big difference.
not 100% sure if i like this one
is that is300 out of alabama?
No, its out of Chattanooga/Ringgold area. Its mine
I know of the black one, white one, blue one, and red one out of AL though. Ha Ha Most all of them post on my message board.
For future reference: Don't have your model wear clothes that are the same color as the car you're shooting.
lol, even the copyright is fucked up by the wide angle!
i know. i need to watch that floating copyright when using wide angle lenses. the lens makes it look all skewed up. nothing in photoshop can do that so you know it wasnt done by the lens
