I do everything with my laptop, and its getting kind of frustrating to edit with a 14.1 screen. It just doesn't have the power to do any photoshop/lightroom work.

Anyone do editing with just the laptop? What do you have as far as hardware, monitor, and editing software?

quad core PC OCed to 3ghz, 4GB ram. 24" monitor and a 20" dell monitor as a 2nd. CS3 and LR2 for the programs and a spyder2pro for calibration. I really need to upgrade my 24" monitor to a nicer panel that isnt TN :hs:

1.8

Thinkpad, 2.2ghz core2duo, 3gb ram, 14.1 widescreen, CS3

I don't have any problems with it and my last monitor was a top of the line NEC 22" CRT.

How does the Bamboo help you editing?

How much are you guys paying for the 30in monitors? Could I do editing on my flatscreen Samsung TV?

current computer

AMD 3200 XP
1gb DDR 400
2 - 250gb HDS
1 - 320gb HD
Wacom Bamboo Fun
19" Square LG LCD

XP
First is download from card via zoombrowser :hsugh:
then import to lightroom
Standard processing there
Export full quality TIFF or JPG
Open in PS CS3 or CS4 for final processing
Some things get opened in portrait pro when im feeling lazy
final export to the 320gb HD
Burn to DVD/CD
Print/Send/Etc.

My mouse scroll wheel sucks on my normal mouse.
So with the bamboo in tablet mode I'll use the pen or the bamboo mouse to do my adjustments in LR via the bamboo mouse wheel, or drag it over via the pen

in PS, it helps a ton with cloning/burning/etc, its so much more accurate than the mouse when you get a feel for it.

in illustrator its really nice to use to edit things, or to draw items when doing web design/etc.
