my card looks different for some reason, since i got it back from home
how does it look "different"? You mean you think someone swapped cards on you? A visual inspection is best. But you can also right click "My Computer" and go to "Manage" Then in the device manager you can look at "Display Adaptors" and it will tell you what driver you're using.
yeah, i think someone changed cards on me. i'm suuposed to have an radeon 9600,so far the device manager just says unknown. its been awhile since i've seen the card, but it looks kinda thin too me. Someone's gonna die.
if it says "unknown" then the driver isn't there. Download the new one from www.ati.com
if you think it's swapped, a visual inspection is the way to go... open the case up.
thanks for the help. the driver does say what its supposed to, although card itself doesn't have ati written on it anywhere i can see
start > run > dxdiag > display tab will also give you info
not all Radeon cards are ATi built. They have an ATi chipset "powered by ATi", but not necessarily "Built by ATi".
not nessesarily. There are a lot of manufactures that ATI cards that aren't OEM.
