Bose 601 IV
I have no clue which set to get. What are your thoughts?
If you've definitely narrowed it down to those 2, I would by all means pick the Yamahas.
I would encourage you to listen to speakers at someplace other than best buy, though, where you don't have to fight the dull roar.
I would go somewhere else but I have a family member that works at a best buy and the discount is just too much to refuse. Those Yamaha's are normally 250 each, with the discount they are under 130 each...
I would look at the Athena speakers they carry then.
i would build my own set, again...
Pics of said speakers?
what do you think about the klipsch's?
Depends on what ones you are looking at.
The Synergy series is alright, but I was less than impressed on the build quality and they sounded a bit harsh. The Reference series is real nice though. IMO, for the average consumer, they are one of the best speakers to get because they can get loud even with really low powered amplifiers and still sound great.
best buy carries these celestion's too I dont know a damn thing about them but they look really cool. Saw in my last issue of electronic house. they any good? pricey for sure too..
Whoa. on the price.
I'm down with the build-your-own theory. If you plan and have the right tools then you have a comparable if not better speaker system.
I wouldn't pick either of those speakers... but if you have to, Get the yamahas
I dont know what your budget is, but try some Swan Divas
Just to let you know, building speakers takes a lot of time. you have to spend a lot of time researching first, then you have to plan, then you have to wair for everything to arrive, and the you have to build the set speakers. We are talking at least 2 months if you are good.
But the main question is... What is your budget?
