the way i saw it is that a chin-up is having your arms at a wide stance while pull-ups are a little closer (preferably shoulder width) and just being able to pull yourself up toward the bar. unlike chin-ups where you have your chin above the bar to count each rep.
1 or 1 , I can't decide.

ive always viewed pullups as palms facing away, arms out wide and chinups as palms facing you with a close grip
lol, They're da same in my book. Wide grip pull-ups/reg pull-ups.
Palms away - pullup
Palms toward you - chin up

And when you use a neutral or parallel grip???

chin - palms pronated
pull up - palms supinated
