E30, E36 or E46?
WTF are you me for?
i'd take a 95... obd1 and AA turbo ready
so the 95 is an ok year? i heard some m3 motors have issues just trying to figure out which year to buy.
the e46 bmw m3 with the s54 motors have problems throwing the connecting rods
alrighty so a 96-98 then. anything go wrong with them or just wear and tear mantinance?
tranny = no good in e36...but i'd agree w/ everyone saying thats ur best bet...e46 i wouldn't touch w/ a 80ft pole
which year is most reliable? (i can only afford 95-98 years)
so the manual tranny would be the only way to go in the 96-98. also when i do buy one what are some things i will have to replace mantanance wise?
your questions will be best answered by doing searches on the e36 m3 section of forums like bimmerforums.com and bimmer.roadfly.org
those two alone will answer all your questions
1995 might be hard to find with low miles which youll prefer if going turbo. It is the easiest to modify and will probably be the cheapest. E36s last a life time with proper care.
obd1 aint shiet anymore ..
For coupes up to '99
For sedans up to '98
E30 is the only TRUE m3, but e36 is easier to mod.
Not actually knowing, but knowsing another shitty tranny building company I will take a stab in saying VW.
OBDI used to be easier in finding modifications for, but now companys have made just about everything for OBDII. The 96-99 E36 engines are 3.2 litres oposed to the <95 which are 3.0. Though the best would be to get a e36 with a bad motor and do a euro swap.
and they make the smg transmission as well
Like I said it was just a guess.
