that cartilidge/gauged piercings smell like old cheese when you take them out?
Sweat, grease, etc. get trapped maybe?
In my experience that only happens with plugs and such that don't move around. Never had that happen with rings.
that happens to me only with metal jewelry. i have hardwood plugs and they don't really get smelly. and when i wear my pyrex it doesn't get stinky either....
My silicone tunnels never smell either.
The smell tends to fade after I while I've noticed, I've just gone up to 5/8" and they smell terrible.
it only happens in my cartilidge
even my regular 18g lobes stank.
they need to make piercing cologne
They have something even better, it's called soap! It's a wonderful invention.
yea i would say it's from sweat and dirt and what not. just gotta keep em clean and it won't get bad.
i have the same problems with metal. i think its a combination of healing/dirt/decaying flesh.
but yes, as AB said... soap works wonders. Really scrub those ears! (or noses or whatever )
yeah, i take it out now that i know it makes a smell and clean every day. but the first time i took it out while it was healing, ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Happened all the time with my plugs...didnt matter what ga.
i guess i need to start washing my ears more
ya mine stink all the time, i just make a habit of taking them out and cleaning them
Ha! I think about this every time someone comes near my ears like that. I am religious about scrubbing them for that reason. I notice the "belly button smell" on both pyrex and metal. I dont recall it happening with the bone though.
